Ex-Super Eagles manager Peseiro fails to win on Zamalek debut

Former Super Eagles head coach, José Peseiro, failed to win his first game in charge of Egyptian club Zamalek.

Peseiro was appointed Zamalek head coach on Friday.

The White Knights were held to a 1-1 draw by Petrojet at the Al-Salam Stadium on Sunday.

Mostafa El Gamal gave Zamalek the lead in the fourth minute of stoppage time. However, Petrojet equalised just a minute later when Ahmed Mawgod inadvertently put the ball into his own net.

The result leaves Zamalek three points behind league leaders Al Ahly.

Zamalek will travel to face Al Ahly next weekend.
