Abramovich would have sacked Maresca as Chelsea manager – Mikel Obi

Former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, has claimed former owner of the club, Roman Abramovich, would have sacked current manager, Enzo Maresca.

Mikel Obi made these comments while speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Obi One.

The Nigerian was fuming over the Blues’ poor run of form and singled out Maresca for criticism.

Chelsea lost 3-0 at Brighton last Friday, and the result means they have won just two of their last nine Premier League games.

They have also crashed out of both domestic cup tournaments during that time.

“This would have been a crisis back in our days,” Mikel Obi said.

“The helicopter would have been in London by now, and whoever was in charge would have been gone.

“I’m not calling for Enzo Maresca to be sacked. I’m not. My issue is that what’s going on is not right.”
