Maresca will 100% not be sacked – Chelsea director

Chelsea director, Jonathan Goldstein, has insisted that manager Enzo Maresca’s position is “100 per cent” safe this season.

Maresca has come under pressure especially from fans amid a poor run of form.

The Blues have gone from Premier League title contenders to sitting sixth on the table.

They have won only two of their last nine league fixtures.

Despite that, Goldstein has praised Maresca for “doing a great job”.

“He’s doing a great job. Chelsea started the season very well,” Goldstein said on Bloomberg TV.

“The past six weeks have been, you know, finding their feet a little bit more. But Enzo has clearly done a great job in bringing the team together; bringing the talent through.”

When asked if Maresca would stay for the rest of the season, he replied: “100 per cent.”
