Serie A: Lookman inspires Atalanta’s big win over Empoli

Ademola Lookman put the midweek controversy with manager Gian Piero Gasperini behind him to score a brace in Atalanta’s 5-0 win over Empoli.

Lookman was named in the starting XI for the first time since his injury in late January.

The 27-year-old scored La Dea’s third and fourth goals of the evening.

The Nigeria international has accumulated 12 goals and five assists in 20 league appearances for Atalanta this season.

He was replaced by Juan Cuadrado 14 minutes from time.

The result puts Atalanta within two points of second-placed Napoli, keeping them in the Scudetto race.
