Serie A: Lookman refuses to comment on row with Gasperini

Ademola Lookman has refused to answer if the rift with Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini has been sorted.

Gasperini blasted Lookman for missing a penalty in La Dea’s home loss to Club Brugge last week Tuesday.

The Nigeria international replied by saying the manager’s comment was disrespectful.

The 27-year-old put the row behind him by netting a brace in Atalanta’s 5-0 win over Empoli on Sunday night.

Lookman shook hands with assistant manager, Tullio Gritti, but not with Gasperini after he was substituted in the 73rd minute.

The former Leicester City player was asked by Sky Sport Italia if the row with Gasperini was in the past, but he refused to answer.

He simply shrugged, looked around and eventually replied: “Finished?”

Atalanta’s win over Empoli was a perfect response to the defeat against Club Brugge.

Lookman said they will strive to win more games before the end of the season.

“The team won 5-0 today, we put in a good performance, everyone was at a high level and we showed quality,” he told DAZN.

“We take every game as they come. We played well today, we have to continue this way and prepare for the next.”
