DOGE: Trump reveals why Musk issued mail to workers

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, has uncovered hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud within the U.S. government.

In a video shared by Elon Musk on Monday, Trump made the statement while reacting to a recent directive requiring all government employees to disclose the tasks they completed in the past week.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who issued the directive, stated that failure to respond to the email would be considered a resignation.

Commenting on the matter, Trump said the move was great.

“We have people who don’t show up to work, and nobody even knows if they actually work for the government. So, by asking the question, ‘Tell us what you did this week,’ what he is really saying is, are you actually working?

“And if you don’t answer, you’re sort of semi-fired, or you’re fired, because a lot of people are not responding – simply because they don’t even exist.

“That’s how badly various parts of our government were run, especially by this last group.

“We have already uncovered hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud – and we’ve only just started,” he said.
