NWFL: Rivers Angels demand action over unfounded allegations by Adamama Queens

Rivers Angels have demanded an apology following a spurious allegation made against the club by Adamawa Queens’ technical adviser, Dadeino Herman.

The Jewel of Rivers trounced Adamawa Queens 6-0 in a Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL matchday six encounter on Wednesday.

“Coach Herman’s claims that Rivers Angels ‘used the referees’ to gain an advantage in the match are baseless and unacceptable. We find it ironic that she acknowledged our team’s quality players, yet chose to shift the focus to unfounded allegations,” the Port Harcourt club said in a statement.

“Furthermore, her accusations against the match commissioner and the centre referee are serious and deserve attention from the league body. However, we insist that such allegations should not be used as a smokescreen to deflect attention from the actual outcome of the match.

“As a reputable club, Rivers Angels will not stand by and watch while our image is tarnished by unfounded claims.”

Rivers Angels implore the NWFL to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

The former champions currently occupy first position in Group B.
