Scotland: Rangers paid for poor start against Motherwell – Balogun

Leon Balogun admitted that Rangers started poorly in their 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell at the Ibox on Saturday.

Barry Ferguson’s side conceded after nine minutes with Luke Armstrong profiting from goalkeeper Jack Butland’s error.

Tom Sparrow doubled the advantage on the half hour mark from another error.

Balogun’s international teammate, Cyriel Dessers reduced the deficit after the break.

The Light Blues were however unable to mount a comeback like they did in midweek’s 4-2 win at Kilmarnock.

“The dressing room is probably as flat as our first half was. That’s where the whole truth in the game lies, I think,” Balogun told the club’s official website.

“If we start a game of football like that at Ibrox, again, after Wednesday night [vs Kilmarnock] where I thought the team showed great character, I think it’s only right you get a certain reaction from the crowd.”
