US reliable ally – UK PM Starmer

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday said he did not accept that the United States, under President Donald Trump, is an unreliable ally.

Starmer made this statement at a summit in London.

On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy clashed with Trump and cut short his visit to Washington.

When asked during a press conference whether the US could now be considered an unreliable ally, Starmer said nobody wanted to see what had happened last Friday.

*”I do not accept that the US is an unreliable ally. The US has been a reliable ally to the UK for many, many decades and continues to be.

“There are no two countries as closely aligned as ours. Our defence, security, and intelligence are intertwined in a way no other two countries are,” the UK prime minister said.
