Protest rocks Rivers as Fubara’s supporters storm Port Harcourt streets [VIDEO]

Supporters of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Monday stormed streets in Port Harcourt to show solidarity with their leader.

The supporters, who believe that the governor is being victimized following the recent judgement of the Supreme Court that sacked council chairmen, took over the Omuma LGA secretariat and other areas early hours of Monday.

Media Talk Africa reports that the apex court dealt a heavy blow to Fubara on Friday as it nullified the outcome of the LG election that held in the state on October 5, 2024.

The judgement also reinstated the judgement that barred the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and the Accountant General of the Federation, from releasing statutory monthly allocations to the state.

The development did not sit down well with supporters of the governor, who accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike of witch-hunting Fubara.
