Andy Cole names worst player in Man Utd training

Former Manchester United attacker, Andy Cole has revealed the ‘worst player’ in the Red Devils training.

Cole spent six years at Man United, scoring over 100 goals for the Premier League club.

He helped United win five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League.

However, Cole revealed that the ‘worst player’ in Man United training was Gary Pallister, adding that he was the most common recipient of a ‘yellow jersey’.

“The intensity in training was mad,” Cole said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.

“It was more intense than England training. The mentality of each player meant if you lost a training game you’d be vexed. We used to bring out the yellow jersey at the end of training for the worst player.

“The worst player would get it and they had to wear it for the next week.”

When asked who often ended up with the yellow jersey, Cole added: “Pally. Pally used to get it a lot.”

Pallister was a mainstay in the Manchester United team throughout the 1990s.

He lifted four Premier League trophies under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pallister was also being named in the PFA Team of the Year five times.
