Steven Gerrard set to return to Liverpool

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard will once again play on the Anfield pitch and renew his rivalry with Chelsea in a charity game alongside Peter Crouch.

The match has been scheduled for March 22 and will see Gerrard line up with several former teammates.

The 44-year-old has been out of management since leaving Al-Ettifaq in January.

Gerrard left the Saudi Arabian outfit struggling in 12th place.

He is now set to return to Anfield, a more familiar setting for the ex-England midfielder.

Former teammates Sami Hyypia, Martin Skrtel, Dirk Kuyt and Peter Crouch are all confirmed to take part.

A part of the proceeds will also go to the Chelsea Foundation and, in particular, the Chelsea Players’ Trust.
