Rasmus Hojlund has been ‘so bad’ under Amorim – Rio Ferdinand

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has suggested that striker Rasmus Højlund has been underperforming recently under current manager Ruben Amorim.

Ferdinand’s comments come after Man United were eliminated from the FA Cup by Fulham over the weekend.

Højlund featured against Fulham and was replaced by teenager Chido Obi-Martin in the second half of Sunday’s FA Cup tie.

The 22-year-old joined the Red Devils from Atalanta for £72 million in 2023.

The Denmark international has so far failed to live up to his price tag at Old Trafford, scoring just two goals in the Premier League this season.

“That result killed me,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel, speaking about Man United’s FA Cup defeat to Fulham.

“I was on the floor. This United side can’t create chances, they can’t score goals. It’s a joke.

“For me, because Højlund has been so off it and so bad recently, when you saw that kid [Obi-Martin] come on, everyone got excited with the little things.”
