Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), has urged worshippers to vote wisely in the upcoming Saturday presidential election. Speaking during a Sunday sermon at Winners’ Chapel, the bishop emphasized his commitment to the peace and stability of Nigeria, stressing that the nation is not an entity or property that can be bought.
Oyedepo warned that “Nigeria is not for sale; we are a people, not a commodity.” He outlined the qualities voters should consider in a candidate, stating that one does not need to be a billionaire to become president. Instead, a leader must possess capacity and character—attributes he believes exist throughout the country. While everyone is free to join any political party, Oyedepo cautioned that supporting a party that does not prioritize the nation’s wellbeing will lead to problems.
He warned that without decisive action, the nation could face a severe emergency requiring intervention to revive it from its current distress. “This week is decisive, so vote wisely. Vote for a leader with capacity and character,” he concluded.
