LaLiga: Xavi names four Barcelona players he trusted as manager

Former Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has said he is happy to have “trusted” the new generation of players at the club.

Xavi wanted to step down from the role, but was convinced to stay put.

And then, when he wanted to remain in the role, the 44-year-old was eventually sacked.

Under the Spaniard, youngsters like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde and Fermin Lopez came into the limelight.

“Beyond the titles, I feel very proud that I trusted a new generation like Fermín, Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí and Alejandro Balde.

“They represent the future of the club. It makes me feel proud,” Xavi told France Football.

Xavi led Barça to the LaLiga title two years ago, the club’s first since 2019.

He is currently out of work, but is planning to return to management this summer.
