EPL: I still don’t get it – Paul Merson bemused by Man Utd transfer decision

Arsenal legend Paul Merson has said he is still bemused by a Manchester United transfer decision in January.

Despite Man United’s struggles on the pitch, the Premier League club allowed more players to leave Old Trafford than they signed during the January transfer window.

The likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia were all sent out on loan deals.

Man United only signed Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven to strengthen manager Ruben Amorim’s struggling squad.

However, Merson still cannot believe that Amorim allowed Rashford to join Aston Villa on loan.

According to him, the England international is good enough to start for Man United every week.

“Marcus Rashford is doing alright, better than I thought he would do,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“He would get in Manchester United’s team every day of the week, so I still don’t get it.”
