Barcelona vs Benfica: ‘They’re at a very high level’ – Saviola hails two players

Former Barcelona and Benfica forward Javier Saviola has praised Lamine Yamal and Raphinha ahead of both teams’ UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg clash on Tuesday night.

Barcelona will face the Portuguese side at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc.

The Blaugrana head into the game following a 1-0 win in the first leg last week.

Speaking to the media, Saviola (quoted by Barça Universal) said that Yamal and Raphinha are performing at a very high level.

“They [Benfica] could not gain an advantage against Barcelona even with an extra player. And going to Barcelona with a disadvantage is complicated,” Saviola said.

“We already know that Barça, with the draw in their favour, will have plenty of space and will play on the counterattack. They have players like Lamine and also Raphinha, who are at a very high level.”

Both Yamal and Raphinha have been impressive for Hansi Flick’s side so far this season.

Raphinha has scored 25 goals and provided 18 assists in 40 games.

Yamal, on the other hand, has netted 11 goals and provided 16 assists in 36 games.
