Ukraine: 30-day ceasefire could be used to draft peace plan — Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine said on Wednesday that a potential 30-day ceasefire with Russia could be used to draft a broader peace deal.

He made this statement while hailing this week’s meeting in Saudi Arabia between US and Ukrainian officials as constructive.

Zelenskyy remarked during a briefing in Kyiv, where he stated that Ukraine supported a US effort to end Russia’s three-year-old invasion as soon as possible.

He added that the resumption of US military aid and intelligence sharing was very positive.

It should be recalled that on Tuesday, Ukraine endorsed an American proposal for a 30-day ceasefire and agreed to immediate negotiations with Russia in pivotal talks in Jeddah, following three years of grinding war.

A joint statement indicated that, in the first high-level US-Ukraine meeting since President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s White House reprimand, the Americans agreed to restore military aid and pledged to conclude a deal on Ukrainian minerals as soon as possible.
