Champions League: Rio Ferdinand snubs Real Madrid, names team to win trophy

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has opted not to pick Real Madrid as his favorite to win the Champions League this season.

Instead, Ferdinand has chosen Paris Saint-Germain, who eliminated Liverpool in the Round of 16.

Real have also progressed to the quarter-finals, where they will face Arsenal, while PSG will take on Aston Villa.

On the other side of the draw, Barcelona will play Borussia Dortmund, while there is a heavyweight clash between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Ferdinand, speaking on TNT Sports, said PSG have what it takes to go all the way.

He said: “I’m so excited, what a draw. If I’ve got to predict who is going to win the Champions League, I’m going with Barcelona in the final against Paris Saint-Germain.

“It’s going to be PSG or Real Madrid, isn’t it?

“PSG have been the best team to watch for me this year in the knockout stages, definitely the most impressive, so I’m going to go for them.”
