North no longer interested in Buhari – Atiku’s Aide

Abdul Rasheeth, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has stated that the northern region is not interested in anything related to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Rasheeth made this remark on X while reacting to Buhari’s recent statement reaffirming his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former president’s comments came after ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai claimed he had informed Buhari before leaving the APC for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Atiku’s aide argued that El-Rufai’s decision to mention Buhari in his defection announcement had only worsened his situation.

He cited reactions from the North and comments on BBC Hausa, suggesting that the former president’s name carries little political weight in the region.

“By linking himself to Buhari, he has only created more trouble for himself, as the North is not interested in hearing anything related to Buhari,” Rasheeth said.
