NPFL: Plateau Utd gives reason for increase in gate fee for Pillars clash

Plateau United have stated the reason for the increase in the gate fee for the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday 30 clash against Kano Pillars.

The Peace Boys said the gesture is aimed at adopting a crowd control measure considering the fan base of both teams.

Plateau United will lock horns with Kano Pillars at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

Fans will be required to pay a minimum sum of N500 to gain entrance to the stadium.

“First, following remote security reports ahead of the game, adopting crowd control measures remained very key in order to avoid a repeat of past unfortunate match Day experiences,” Plateau United wrote on their Facebook page.

“Plateau United and Kano Pillars boast very large following across northern Nigeria and considering the proximity of bordering states and available fan base, a number of crowd Management measures needed to be introduced.

“With management currently grappling with recovering deducted points for fans’ trouble, it was only strategic to adopt some strategies to contend with expected numbers.”
