Details of Chelsea’s deal for Essugo revealed

Details of Chelsea’s transfer deal for Dario Essugo have been revealed.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Essugo has completed his medical ahead of his move to Chelsea from Sporting Lisbon. The Premier League club paid Sporting a €22 million transfer fee for the 20-year-old midfielder.

Romano reported that Essugo will sign a seven-year contract with the Blues and will be part of manager Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad next season.

“BREAKING: Dario Essugo to Chelsea, here we go! Agreement done with Sporting and medical completed,” Romano wrote on X on Saturday.

“€22m transfer fee for the 20-year-old midfielder to join #CFC this summer and be part of the first team. Essugo will sign a seven-year deal.”

Essugo is currently on a season-long loan with Spanish club Las Palmas.

Chelsea are expected to be active in the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen Maresca’s squad ahead of next season.
