Champions League play-offs: Two more teams on verge of qualifying for last 16

When Arsenal hosted Chelsea last season, there were bang in the middle of a Premier League title race.

Mikel Arteta’s side were fiercely competing with Manchester City to be champions of England.

Within three minutes, Leandro Trossard had fired the Gunners ahead, as they ultimately won 5-0.

This time around, Arsenal are all but out of a title race.

Liverpool’s 15-point lead at the top, essentially means we are in a procession towards Arne Slot’s men winning the league.

However, for Arsenal, there is danger they could be clinging to second spot. Nottingham Forest’s 4-1 win at Ipswich on Saturday, saw them close the gap between them and the North Londoners to one point.

There was a time in December, where Chelsea needed to win at Everton to go above Liverpool.

Enzo Maresca’s men were playing delicious football, led by Cole Palmer’s casual brilliance.

But they have since come undone, Palmer has barely scored this year and the Blues are struggling to hang on to fourth spot.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea cannot afford to drop points at the Emirates. Anything short of a point will introduce jeopardy into their season.

However, the Gunners are slight favourites to win, as they have found a bit of form in recent weeks.
