Cole Palmer leaves England camp

Chelsea playmaker, Cole Palmer, has left the England camp due to injury.

The West London club has confirmed that Palmer will return for further medical assessment.

The 22-year-old missed the 1-0 defeat at Arsenal last Sunday after picking up an injury in training.

New England manager, Thomas Tuchel, had called up Palmer for his first games in charge of the team.

However, a statement has confirmed that Palmer “remains with Chelsea for further assessment on an injury sustained in training ahead of his club’s fixture at Arsenal last Sunday”.

Morgan Gibbs-White has already been called up as a replacement for Palmer.

The Nottingham Forest creator was a surprise omission from Tuchel’s initial squad.
