State of Emergency: Tinubu meets Rivers sole administrator

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), the recently appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers State at the State House, Abuja.

This is coming hours after the president declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State to end the lingering political crisis in the state.

Media Talk Africa reports that after the proclamation of the state of emergency, Tinubu suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, appointing Ibas to run the affairs of the state.

Although the reason for the meeting cannot be ascertained at the moment, it may not be unconnected to the crisis in Rivers State.

Vice Admiral Ibas arrived at the State House at 12:50 pm for the meeting.
