‘It’s blessing’ — Lookman reflects on status as Africa’s best player

Nigeria winger, Ademola Lookman has reflected on his status as Africa’s best player, Media Talk Africa reports.

Lookman was crowned the continent’s best player in Marrakech, Morocco last December.

His compatriot Victor Osimhen won the prestigious award in 2024.

“It’s a blessing, it’s a pleasure, and most definitely an honour, to be among the people here who have won the award, like my teammate last year, Osimhen, my brother,” the Atalanta winger told NFF TV.

“To be able to be crowned this is a blessing. It’s something I hold with great honour and great respect.”

Lookman is currently with Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
