2026 WCQ: How Zimbabwe can beat Super Eagles – Nees

Zimbabwe head coach, Michael Nees, has said his players must be at their best to get a positive result against Nigeria.

The Warriors are winless in Group C after five games.

Nees’ side will need a win against Nigeria to get their campaign back on track.

The German accepted the challenge and claimed his team must be ready for a tough test.

“It would be an exciting game, we have to perform to our maximum, but we should expect a really tough opponent who would give everything and must also give everything and we will,” Nees told reporters.

The Super Eagles will be buoyed by the home support with a large crowd expected at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Tuesday.

Nees said it is important to enjoy the occasion and not be nervous.

“We must accept the challenge, the climate, the pace, the conditions, they must accept the challenge and enjoy it, we mustn’t be afraid of anything.

“We can play football, we will analyze opponents, we would analyze our game, the players don’t need to be nervous,” he said.
