2026 WCQ: Chelle gives injury update ahead of Nigeria vs Zimbabwe clash

The head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, provided an injury update on his squad on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.

Nigeria will face the Warriors in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as they look to strengthen their chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament.

Chelle’s men secured a 2-0 victory over Rwanda three days ago in Kigali, a win that lifted them to fourth place with six points.

The Malian tactician will have his full squad available as he aims for back-to-back wins in charge.

“All the players are ready,” Chelle responded when asked by reporters about any possible injuries.

He added: “We had a good training session yesterday. We need to finalise our preparations this evening.

“It won’t be easy. Zimbabwe are a good team, and we need to focus on ourselves.”
