2026 WCQ: Omeruo thumbs up Super Eagles despite draw against Zimbabwe

Kenneth Omeruo has praised his Super Eagles teammates despite their failure to beat Zimbabwe.

Nigeria and Zimbabwe played out a 1-1 draw in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday six encounter in Uyo on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles went in front through Victor Osimhen in the 74th minute.

The Warriors fought back with substitute Chawanda Chirewa equalising late in the game.

Reacting to the result Omeruo wrote on X: “Well done boys… we are almost there.. unlucky with the late goal.. #Believe.”

The Super Eagles remain in fourth position in Group C with seven points from six games.

Eric Chelle’s side will host the Amavubi of Rwanda when the qualifiers resume in September.
