NATO warns Russia against another war in Europe

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, has warned Russia against further attacks in Europe, vowing that the alliance would defend its members.

Secretary-General Mark Rutte declared that NATO would protect Poland and others, and that its reaction to any aggression would be “devastating.”

Rutte spoke to the press on Wednesday during a visit to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, alongside Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

There are fears that Russia may target Poland after the invasion of Ukraine, with Poland requesting the United States to establish a nuclear weapons base in the country.

But Rutte, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, said the transnational alliance would not stand by and allow a repeat of what happened in Ukraine.

“If anyone thinks they can get away with an attack on Poland or on any other ally, they will be met with the full force of this fierce alliance.

“Our reaction will be devastating,” Rutte warned. “This has to be very clear to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and anyone else who wants to attack us.”
