NPFL: Finidi reacts to Rivers United’s defeat to Bayelsa United

Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has reflected on his team’s away defeat to Bayelsa United.

The Pride of Rivers fell to a 1-0 defeat against Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa on Wednesday.

Kehinde Malik netted the only goal of the game in the first half.

Finidi commended his players for putting up a good fight despite the disappointing outcome.

“We came here for something else but we conceded a goal from that moment the game became difficult,” Finidi stated after the game.

“We pushed in the second half for the equaliser but we have to give them credits for their defensive discipline.

“A game like this it’s just about a moment they had that moment and they scored, I just needed to commend my boys for the performance despite the defeat.”

Rivers United remain in second position on the log despite the defeat.
