Turkey: Osimhen in race to be fit for Galatasaray vs Besiktas

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen is battling to be fit for Galatasaray’s Istanbul derby with Besiktas.

Osimhen was forced off Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday due to a muscle injury.

Galatasaray will be away to Besiktas at the Tupras Stadium, Istanbul on Saturday.

Osimhen, who is on loan at the club from Serie A outfit, Napoli has scored 20 goals in 22 league appearances for the Yellow and Reds this season.

The 26-year-old has also scored eight goals in the last five league matches for Okan Buruk’s side.

Galatasaray have won their last three games against Besiktas.

Galatasaray are top of the standings with 71 points from 27 matches, a massive 27 points clear of fourth-placed Besiktas.
