No stupid decisions - Guardiola speaks on Rodri's return to Man City team

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said his players don’t deserve any bonuses at the end of this season, even if they win the Club World Cup.

City head to Bournemouth on Sunday, looking to reach a seventh consecutive FA Cup semi-final.

However, Guardiola’s men face a tough battle to qualify for the Champions League following an inconsistent campaign.

The Club World Cup has a potential prize pot of £97 million for the winners, which would boost the club’s summer transfer budget.

City, who offer seven-figure bonuses to Guardiola and his top players for winning the Champions League, would also provide substantial payouts for victory in America.

“We don’t deserve it this season,” Guardiola said.

“We don’t deserve a bonus this season. If we win, the bonus is for the club. Managers, staff, players—we don’t deserve it. Not even a watch.”

City have been drawn against Wydad, Al Ain, and Juventus in their Club World Cup group and could face Real Madrid in the early knockout rounds.
