Barcelona suffer major injury blow

Barcelona have suffered a major injury blow ahead of their LaLiga clash with Girona this weekend.

The Catalan club confirmed in a statement via their website on Friday that midfielder Dani Olmo has sustained a groin injury.

The Spain international is now expected to be out of action for Hansi Flick’s side for around three weeks.

“Tests conducted on Friday morning have shown that Dani Olmo has suffered a myofascial injury to the adductor of his right leg.

“The recovery time will be approximately three weeks,” Barcelona’s statement read.

Olmo sustained the injury during Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Osasuna on Thursday.

He scored a retaken penalty but had to be substituted after 28 minutes.

Olmo has appeared in 28 games for Barça’s first team, scoring eight goals.
