The founder of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged worshippers to vote wisely in the upcoming Saturday presidential and National Assembly elections. In his Sunday sermon, he emphasized his desire for peace and stability in Nigeria and stressed that he would never be partisan, noting that members of his church are founders of various political parties.
Bishop Oyedepo said, “I have my sons who are founders of parties; everyone is free to join a party, but if you do not join for the well‑being of this nation, you are in trouble. Let us look out for the well‑being of this nation and stop hovering around the same nonsense every time. May we never see the afflictions we have endured over the last eight years again, otherwise there may not be a country left.” He warned against allowing suffering to continue unchecked.
Addressing the qualities to look for in a candidate, he noted, “You do not need to be a billionaire to be President; you need capacity and character, and we have those qualities across the country. Everyone is free to join a party, but if you do not join for the well‑being of this nation, you are in a problem.” He added that an emergency intervention will be required to revive a nation in grave distress.
“This week is decisive, so vote wisely. Vote for a leader with capacity and character,” he concluded.
