NPFL: Shooting Stars to sign new players ahead league resumption

Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has disclosed that the club will sign new players ahead of the second half of the campaign.

The Oluyole Warriors have struggled to make much impact in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.

Ogunbote’s side held former champions, Akwa United to a 2-2 draw at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Sunday.

The experienced tactician said his team has been hampered by injuries this season and it is important to bring in some fresh legs.

“We will make some additions to the team ahead of the start of the second round,” Ogunbote told reporters.

“Some of our players are suffering from lack of confidence but that is not an excuse; injuries, too, have not been fair to us, but we will work around it,” he stated.

Shooting Stars are in sixth position on the Group A table with 10 points from nine matches.
