Otti cautions new appointees against corruption, low performance

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has sworn in two newly appointed government functionaries, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Meribeole and Rev. Annie Onu, with a charge on them to put in their best in the service of the state.

Otti, who warned the two new appointees against indulging in corruption or producing low performance, said such practices won’t be accepted by his administration.

Speaking at the swearing-in-ceremony at the Government House, Umuahia, on Wednesday, Otti charged Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Meribeole, Special Adviser on Projects, and Rev. Annie Onu, the Executive Secretary of Abia State Diaspora Commission to meet up with high standard expectations of the people.

“Here, we have zero tolerance for corruption and poor performance”, he warned.

Governor Otti, who noted that both Meribole, a retired Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Onu, a member of Abia Diaspora Commission were all coming with experience, congratulated them on their appointments and expressed the hope that they would bring their knowledge to bear in their new offices.

He said that Meribeole was already involved in the ongoing construction work at the Abia Airport project, while Onu would coordinate the Abia Diaspora Commission and ensure that the contact between them and home was maintained.

Responding, the two appointees promised to work in accordance with the development template of the administration for the greater good of Abia people.
