The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa State has confirmed its readiness to conduct the presidential election on Saturday, 25 February 2023. Resident Electoral Commissioner Barrister Hudu Yunusa Ari addressed journalists in Yola, stating that a total of 17,812 personnel have been recruited for the exercise.

Ari disclosed that 4,104 Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BVAS) have already been received for the 2023 general elections in the state, with an additional 275 units earmarked as backup. All configured BVAS will be deployed to the 21 local government areas (LGAs) this week for charging in preparation for the vote. The commission will also deploy the “IRev” technology to transmit election results from polling units.

The REC confirmed receipt of non‑sensitive materials from the zonal office in Gombe State, including ballot boxes, voting cubicles, election bags, liquid gum, colour printers, maintenance kits, toners, micro‑dry dip, first‑aid kits and other items. “Over 80 % of our non‑sensitive materials have been supplied and moved to the 21 LGAs, while sensitive materials for the 25 February presidential/NASS election have been delivered to the Central Bank of Nigeria in Yola,” he said.

Transportation logistics have been arranged with the NURTW, NARTO and maritime workers, following certification by the Federal Road Safety Corps for the elections. The recruitment process was completed through the INECPRES portal, and the commission has reviewed and revalidated the framework for IDP voting.

Ari urged citizens to conduct themselves orderly and peacefully before, during, and after the elections to ensure a hitch‑free exercise. He added that the voter registers for all 21 LGAs have been printed in both colour and black‑and‑white, with electoral officers proofreading and cross‑checking the documents to avoid missing pages or omitted names. Training for staff has also been completed to adequately prepare them for the 2023 general elections in Adamawa State.
