Suspected hoodlums attack Labour Party Secretariat, cart away millions in Lagos

The Labour Party (LP) Secretariat located in the Ikeja GRA area of Lagos was on Monday reportedly attacked by suspected armed thugs.

It was gathered that the attackers carted away valuables and an undisclosed sum of money believed to run into millions of naira.

According to an eyewitness and staff member at the secretariat, the attack occurred around 10 a.m. when a large group of suspected hoodlums estimated to number over 300 stormed the premises, forcefully gaining entry and vandalizing offices.

The invaders allegedly made away with sensitive party documents, electronics, and large sums of cash during the operation, which sent staff and bystanders fleeing for safety.

Police personnel were said to have arrived shortly after the assailants had dispersed, but no arrests were made at the scene.

While the motive for the coordinated attack remains unknown as of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident and assured the public that a full-scale investigation is underway.

Authorities said efforts are ongoing to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.
