Kano South APC leaders beg Sen Sumaila to return to party fold

Chairmen and secretaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano South Senatorial District have made a passionate appeal to Senator Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila to return to the party, describing him as a valuable asset whose presence is greatly missed.

The call was made during a news conference on Tuesday in Albasu town, where 16 local government APC chairmen, secretaries, and ward leaders gathered to collectively urge the senator to rejoin the party.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Iliya Jibrin Hungu, Chairman of APC in Albasu Local Government, emphasized the importance of Senator Sumaila’s return.

“There is no doubt that Sen. Sumaila will add immense value to our great party if he answers our call and returns to the APC. He will assist in uniting members of the party in the zone,” Hungu said.

Senator Sumaila, who currently represents Kano South Senatorial District on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), was once a prominent APC chieftain. His influence in the region, party leaders say, remains unmatched.

“We know the capacity and value of Sen. Sumaila in Kano politics. Though he is not a card-carrying member of the APC, the man extends his hands of fellowship to all, irrespective of their party affiliations,” Hungu added. “This is the kind of politician we need in the APC.”

The APC leaders also called on high-ranking party officials and political stakeholders to intervene and facilitate Sumaila’s return. They specifically appealed to the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas; and all serving and former APC lawmakers from the zone.

“We are appealing to our serving and former APC state lawmakers from Kano South, the APC caucus, and national leaders to help us in pacifying Sen. Sumaila to consider our plea,” Hungu said.

He described Sumaila as a committed and selfless politician whose energy and resources have always been dedicated to the well-being of his constituents.

“Sen. Sumaila has no match in Kano South. We really need the man back into the APC. We will be happy if the senator accepts to return to the party,” he concluded.
