I am not dumping PDP for APC – Zamfara Gov, Lawal counters reports

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has dismissed rumours making the rounds that he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC

The governor, in a post shared on his verified Facebook and X handles, reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, describing himself as a bona fide member of the party.

“I am Dauda Lawal, a bona fide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Disregard the fake news from detractors determined to distract us from the RESCUE MISSION we have embarked on,” he said.

He stressed that his focus remains on delivering the mandate given to him by the people of Zamfara State and not on political distractions.

The clarification comes following widespread speculation alleging that the Governor was considering a move to the APC.

Media Talk Africa reports that Zamfara is located in the North-West region of Nigeria.
