NNPP unaware of Senator Kawu Sumaila’s defection to APC — Kano Chairman

The Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, has said that the party is not aware of the defection of Senator Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dungurawa made the statement on Wednesday during a telephone interview with Daily News 24 Hausa, shortly after news of the senator’s defection surfaced online.

According to the chairman, the party has not received any official communication from the senator regarding his departure from the NNPP.

This comes after Senator Sumaila, who represents Kano South Senatorial District, confirmed his move to the APC via a post on his verified Facebook page earlier on Wednesday.

In the post, he declared his new political alignment, ending weeks of speculation over his next political move.
