Ganduje welcomes Kawu Sumaila, top NNPP defectors to APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has officially welcomed Senator Kawu Sumaila and several other prominent politicians into the party following their defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

This was made known in a statement released by Aminu Dahiru, Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Visual Communication and Events.

Among those who joined the APC alongside Senator Kawu Sumaila are Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, who represents Rano/Kibiya/Bunkure in the National Assembly, Dr. Baffa Bichi, former Secretary to the Kano State Government, and Hon. Badamasi Ayuba, a former lawmaker representing Danbatta/Makoda constituency.

Other defectors include Hon. Abdullahi Sani Rogo, Rt. Hon. Zubairu Hamza Masu, Hon. Muhammad Diggol, Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, and Hon. Abbas Sani Abbas.

According to the statement, many of the defectors cited “injustice” and unfair treatment from the NNPP’s national leader, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, as their reasons for leaving the party.

They expressed confidence in the leadership of Dr. Ganduje and pledged their commitment to helping build a stronger political structure within the APC.
