2027: Delta can’t work against Tinubu – Oborevwori speaks after officially joining APC

Following his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has vowed to work for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

Oborevwori said it’s time for Delta State to join the ruling party because it has been in the opposition for the past 10 years.

Speaking in Asaba on Monday at a rally organised to welcome him and other defectors into the party, Oborevwori said Delta State can’t afford to work against Tinubu.

On April 23, Oborevwori and former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa had defected to APC.

Speaking at the rally in Asaba on Monday, Oborevwori announced a mass defection of political figures from PDP to APC in the state.

He said, “Delta cannot carry last. We have been in opposition for almost ten years. Mr President has supported us, he has shown us love.

“We cannot face him in 2027 to work against him. That love that he has shown us in Delta state, we need to reciprocate it.

“We cannot do it in our old party, you have to be inside to do it and to do it well.”
