Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde Reshuffles Cabinet

In a significant move, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reshuffled his cabinet, affecting key positions in various ministries. This development was announced on Monday through a letter signed by the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi. The reshuffle sees the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Seun Ashamu, taking on a new role as the head of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure, and Transport. This shift indicates a strategic realignment of responsibilities within the state’s administrative structure. Additionally, Professor Dahud Shangodoyin, previously the Commissioner for Public Works, will now oversee the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighting a continued focus on these critical sectors.

Further changes include the movement of Professor Solihu Adelabu, formerly the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, to the Ministry of Establishments and Training. This adjustment suggests an effort to enhance capabilities in these areas. Concurrently, Mr. Segun Olayiwola, the current Commissioner for Establishments, will assume the role of Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, bringing his expertise to this vital sector.

These changes are effective immediately, as stated by Ogunwuyi, who also conveyed the Governor’s expectation that the commissioners will continue to carry out their duties with absolute loyalty and dedication to the state. This cabinet reshuffle underscores Governor Makinde’s commitment to efficient governance and his pursuit of the best possible outcomes for Oyo State. By making these strategic adjustments, the Governor aims to optimize the performance of his administration, ensuring that the state’s ministries are well-equipped to address the needs of its citizens and drive progress.
