Former Chelsea women’s striker Eniola Aluko says Victor Osimwan is in sensational goal‑scoring form. The Nigeria international had netted in five consecutive Serie A matches before Napoli’s Tuesday trip to Germany for their Champions League clash against Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt. In that game, the Napoli No. 9 continued his rich vein of form by opening the scoring against the German side.
Five minutes before halftime, Osimwan turned in a brilliant pass from Hirving Lozano to break the deadlock, taking his tally for the season to 20 goals in 24 matches across all competitions. He had earlier won a penalty in the 34th minute after being fouled inside the box by Aurelio Buta, but Khvicha Kvaratskhelia failed to convert from the spot.
Reacting to Napoli’s opener, Aluko said on BT Sport: “You see straightaway as soon as they win the ball back, they are direct. You see Osimwan really attacks the box, gets into the box ahead of the defenders. Hirving Lozano—great, inch‑perfect ball—and a good striker’s finish. Osimwan is on fire. Everything he touches is going in, 20th goal of the season. Brilliant goal‑scoring record so far this season.”
Osimwan’s other Champions League goal this season came against Ajax Amsterdam on matchday four of the group stage.
