Electoral imbalances fueling tensions in Warri Federal Constituency – Aniagwu

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has said that there are imbalances in Warri Federal Constituency and some other areas across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Aniagwu made the declaration during a live broadcast on AriseTV News.

He stated that these imbalances are the root cause of tensions in the area.

According to Aniagwu, “It’s not unexpected, because there were individuals who may have benefitted from the already existing lopsided electoral wards.

“Now, having to address it means they have lost certain advantages they may have been enjoying on account of that imbalance.”

Aniagwu explained that, as human beings, “if certain advantages are in your favour, and at the end of the day, those are corrected for the purpose of equity, that equity may rob you of some undue advantage that previously worked in your favour. And you don’t expect that person to begin to rejoice.”
