The poll aimed to analyze the direction of the state’s electorate and provide insights into the preferences of voting-age adults across the 13 local government areas.

The survey, which utilized SMS and mobile web research platforms, employed a simple random sampling technique to collect data from diverse respondents. Interestingly, the poll also drew on data from the 2023 elections, as provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Notably, prior to the 2023 elections, Nasarawa state had 1,899,244 registered voters, with 1,847,752 voter cards collected.

The poll featured 14 aspirants, including prominent figures such as David Emmanuel Ombugadu, Nuhu Angbazo, and Silas Ali Agara. However, Mohammed Adamu emerged as the clear leader, with 51.26% of respondents indicating their readiness to cast their votes for him. David Emmanuel Ombugadu, the 2023 PDP governorship candidate and former House of Reps member, trailed behind with 11% of the vote. Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada of the SDP secured 20.31% of the respondents’ support, while Musa Ahmed Muhammad, the Nasarawa State Accountant-General, garnered 5%.

Other aspirants, including Ibrahim Mohammed Ja’afar and Abdulkarim Kana, received 2% and 3% of the vote, respectively. The remaining 7% was shared among the other candidates. The results provide valuable insights into the preferences of the electorate in Nasarawa state, highlighting the strong support for Mohammed Adamu’s candidacy.

TCMPoll, a reputable consultancy and social research agency based in Abuja, conducted the survey using a range of methods, including SMS, computer-assisted telephone interviewing, and online platforms. The agency’s expertise in qualitative research ensures that the poll’s findings are reliable and reflective of the state’s electorate. As the 2027 governorship election approaches, the results of this poll are likely to influence the campaign strategies of the aspirants and provide a snapshot of the current political landscape in Nasarawa state.
