#NigeriaElections2023: Voters besiege INEC Yenagoa office over unavailability of sensitive materials

25th February 2023

Some angry voters marched to the Yenagoa office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Bayelsa State to protest their inability to vote due to the unavailability of sensitive materials.

They were angry that they could not cast their ballots as no electoral officer showed up.

While the demonstration was ongoing, some policemen dispersed them with gunshots.

But the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Bayelsa State, Emmanuel Alex-Hart, appealed to them to maintain the peace as the commission would address their concerns.
