2027: We are not part of any coalition – Benue South PDP leaders declare

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders from Benue South Senatorial District (Zone C) have pledged their commitment to the party, declaring that Zone C remains a stronghold of the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This declaration was made during a caucus meeting of critical party stakeholders held in Makurdi on Sunday, June 29, 2025. At the end of the meeting, the leaders issued a communique affirming their collective resolve to remain in the PDP and strategize for a resounding electoral victory.

“Zone C is PDP, and PDP is Zone C. Our people are not leaving the party. We are focused and determined to reclaim and retain our mandate in 2027,” the stakeholders stated.

The caucus also issued a stern warning to party members fraternizing with coalition movements or other political platforms. “Any PDP member seen attending coalition meetings shall be sanctioned without delay. There is no room for saboteurs,” the communique declared.

Reaffirming the party’s loyalty to its electoral goals, the caucus said: “The PDP in Zone C shall remain faithful and committed to every activity geared towards winning the 2027 elections overwhelmingly.”

The stakeholders threw their weight behind the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, pledging their full support for his re-election bid.

“We stand firmly with Senator Abba Moro, a tested and trusted leader. We shall return him to the Senate come 2027. Likewise, we affirm our total support for Ojotu Ojema and his return to the House of Representatives,” the meeting resolved.

According to one of the leaders present, “These are leaders who have never turned their backs on us. They have brought development and visibility to Zone C, and we owe them our loyalty.”

The meeting ended on a note of assurance to party members and supporters, with leaders promising continued access to the dividends of democracy.

“Our people will not be left behind,” a party elder said. “We assure all our members and supporters that the PDP is committed to delivering good governance, quality representation, and meaningful development to Zone C and beyond.”
